I received today a letter from H&R Block who does my taxes each year. It was one of their advertisements but it said that this year they are doing an Emerald Advance Card for up to $1,000 to those who qualify. It would be in time for Christmas and I'm guessing (as it didn't really quite say) that is a loan against your tax refund in 2009 for the 2008 tax filing season. I'm going to check it out tomorrow but thought I'd share it here. (I'm hoping this sort of sharing isn't against TOS, I'm new to aidpage and still getting the feel for what is ok to share and what is not). I just figured I'd share because of the number of people needing Christmas help. If you did your taxes with H&R Block last year chances are you'd qualify for something and anything is better then nothing.
